This buckle is based on a find from a grave from Frøyland in Rogaland, Norway. It was a male burial and is believed to be from the Vendal period (9th century). There is an excellent description of this buckle at Project Forlog.
This solid brass buckle features two animal heads (probably birds) with engraved lines along their necks.
