A beautiful narrow strap end, constructed using a lost-wax technique with Borre Style Viking decorations. It has a slightly pinkish hue (that does not truly show in the pictures) due to the fact that it is made from solid bronze.

The solid bronze material not only offers a stunning visual appeal but also promises longevity. Unlike other materials that can tarnish or fade, solid bronze develops a beautiful patina over time, enhancing its character and charm, while retaining its structural integrity.

It is easily attached using the two pins on the back and washers.

Measurements:
L = 4.5 cm, W = 1.4 cm (at strap attachment)

This style of decoration was most commonly in use from 875 to 1100 A.D. Recently it has been hypothesized that this style of design has been influenced greatly by passementerie needlework.

This style was found all over the Viking world including the U.K. as you can see from these examples:  https://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/1181716 https://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/405712
