These shining cross tip aiglets are a decorative and functional addition to any medieval or renaissance costume. In medieval Europe they were sewn onto laces to make them easier to lace through holes. In a time before the invention of velcro and zippers, many garments used lacing as a method of fastening.
The cross tip aiglets are best attached to laces by hand stitching although they could be attached using a modern adhesive.
