Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this vintage Mourning Ring from England dates back to 1550-1600 A.D. The design features a stunning, hexagonal bezel adorned with a striking, enamel skull and the thought-provoking inscription of "NOSSE TE. YPSUM" (translated to "Know yourself").

The intricate design continues with an elegantly crafted band, also embellished with delicate black enamelling. A true testament to its time, this ring symbolizes the fragility of life through its second inscription of "Dye to lyve".

The original is found at the Victoria and Albert Museum  in London. https://collections.vam.ac.uk/item/O125925/mourning-ring-unknown/

Please note: gold or silver plated rings are not intended for constant wearing. Please take your ring off while taking a shower, washing the dishes, etc. to keep the gold shining longer.
